HO Ho Ho

Back in the late 80s and early 90s,I along with my good pal Crash carlon would spend 2 weeks sitting on a Toys For Tots billboard collecting cash and toys for all the girls and boys....in 8 years nearly 400 thousand dollars and warehouses full of brand new toys, all because of your incredible generosity..in the late 90s and I kicked off another 4 year run with the K H T Q 94 and a half hour broadcast marathons, again a huge success.as we complete the first decade of the new millenium,we are overwhelmed by charities, always tugging at our wallets,so many it seems like its never ending...please do not get cynical or jaded, instead pick a charity, one charity, and give what you can.as my dearly departed wonderful mother loved to say.."big hearts equal big smiles" Merry Christmas!!

Laughing

I just finished watching Sarah Silverman the first season (on DVD)..wow!! She cracks me up!! And I think it is so cool that her real sister is her TV sister..I also love the TV show on FX "Always Sunny in Philadelphia"..what a

crazy cast of characters...that show is so funny!! Danny Devito has always been one of my favorites and he is so funny in this show! Season 3 just finished up..I have seen a couple shows from season 1 and 2..I am going to buy the DVD. I think my favorite episode is "the Gang Gets Whacked" where they "find" a bag of coke and decide to sell it and the "mobsters" (all overly sterotyped) come looking for them!! What a hoot!!! Now that the season is over ..what will I do?!!

Alterbridge plus Another Animal equals AA-AWESOME

4 A's all the all the way around to last nights ALTER BRIDGE - ANOTHER ANIMAL show at the BIG EASY (Spokane). Myles did not let us down including several hometown references "there's a lot of Spokane in our new CD, I love Manito this time of year..." and a tribute to Musicworld's / Guitar Shop's Mark Morris, the driving inspiration behind the sole-searching "Blackbird" song moved us to an emotionally charged yet totally rocking performance from the first pounding opening chords "Ties that bind" to the last reprises of a sold-out crowd singing along to RISE TODAY. There wasn't a place to stand, yet all the seats were empty.... It was very moving. Tremonti, Marshall and "Flip" were super-charged with energy, and played a solid barrage for two-hours of true-to-the-CD ALTER BRIDGE HITS and select favorites, some added on-stage to the set list just for us! Extremely TIGHT, never stopping for a break, and playing to the crowd, it will be a show we shall always remember. Another Animal's "Whitt" stepped in for "Whole Lotta Rosie" giving Myles a chance to don the knickers and kick some serious former-Spokane Axe-manship. Another Animal had ALREADY proven their game was 'A'

with a solid set before Alter Bridge, although, at times "Black Coffee Blues" we felt like perhaps we were the only ones who had studied the CD and were familiar enough to sing along while the crowd maintained their interest sure enough, perhaps they need to go get that CD! (see our previous BLOG entry on the A.A. disk here in the PIT STOP just so I can say we saw 'em coming, this is band that is grateful to play and well worth the performance be it opening for A B or alone onstage as a headliner at some future point! Stay tuned on THIS one....

Also props to Michael Tremonti, the "man behind the band" Alter Bridge, who gets them there and kind of runs the show behind the scenes. He does a great job as the un-sung fifth Bridge, and really has his hands full yet keeps it real, and everyone was very nice to our grand prize winners and those who got to "race the bands" at the Homeboy-Half mile at Fast-Kart, earlier in the day. (Mrs. Tremonti, did in fact kick my butt with a quality pass on the inside late in the race sending me back a lap, but I had a very loose cart and started last, so I held my ground fairly well.. I was just playing "Kyle Petty" in this race, sitting back in the pack and just collecting points.) Special thanks to Robby and Tony, great racers too, shaving 3 tenths of a second off my personal best-track time (00:23.38).

But the REAL winners were everyone who got to run, what a great bunch of folks, it's easy to see why they all continue to work and play so well together. A tight knit family of respected and experienced rockers, good luck on the rest of the tour and may you continue to be so strong together. See you again, and hopefully REAL soon.

SAY WHA?

very telling phone call this morning...."hey,.I heard there was a Rob Zombie show coming to town,"I say..."well,its sold out, dont you listen to the radio" she says no,satellite radio and cds,but can you give me some tickets anyway!!!ya,sure, you make no investment at all in my process, yet I reward you anyway....if you could download a house, would you expect to get it for free?how about a new car, download it and its yours?if your boss could download your services for free, legally or illegally, how would you feel?by taking the reward out of someone elses effort, you are contributing to the demise of our rich, diverse culture.take music for example, downloading music for free without the artist or any others who contributed to the process being rewarded,is that contributing to the richness of our culture? more like the demise of our culture....no longer will there be the dream of the struggling artist making it big,in its place the sad reality of any dufus from anywhere getting his 15 minutes of youtube fame!!Illegal downloading has become a religion, the internet, the Temple of entitlement....

Don't Have Teenagers!!!

Oh sure they are sooooo darling when they are little...so snuggly and soft and sweet.(just like puppies and kittens) ..but look to the future and a big change is about to hit home...

these teenager types don't want to sit you with and read books anymore...no more lullabies...oh no!! It's X-Box and cell phones ... But hey.... ya know's what's really sweet? That my teens think that snapping a disgusting, nasty, (usually first thing on Sunday morning after a hard nite of partying) picture of their dear ol' mom to put on their my space page is so frickin' funny!!! Yes they trade bad photos of me...and even went so far as to make some sort of "family pact" to print a horendous photo of me in the newspaper we I go to see Jesus!! What the heck is wrong with kids today??!!! I hope I live so long that the technology they have now is obsolete !!! And that newspapers no longer print pictures of poor ol ' Mom's who look so crazy cause their teenagers are driving them around the corners of their minds!!!!!!

Mistress of Reality (VA-voom)

GREAT SHOW the other night, "the girls" are on top of their game! Extremely tight, true to the "Sabbath" sound and exciting to be a part of. You know the tunes, but you've never SEEN Sabbath until you've seen MISTRESS OF REALITY. Trust me. A solid two hours of thrust and grind didn’t leave a dry eye in the house (partly because Izzy kept throwing water and stuff on us) or a moment to catch our breath. The stage came alive and the place didn't stop shaking until the very last moments when they said "thank you for coming" and only then did we have a chance to realize what these girls had done, Brought justice served up on steaming fresh platter of Vintage Sabbath Bitchin’ Sabbath performed with vengeance and passion. And a side order of Attitude! I don’t know where they get that energy from but it’s hard to choose who to watch with such a fearsome four of un-ending musical delights. And, I can take them home to Mommie...

But, mom...was already there. DARN the luck. Go see these girls if you get the chance. You shall not be dissapointed. Special thanks to THE GRAIL for bringing them here, and good luck in Sweeden and Germany. I am sure they will make you the national spokes-babe band of the year. Please come back again real soon.
